New Years Resolution Health Lesson

In class yesterday, we discussed New Years Resolutions...what are they, why do people think they're important, how long do they typically last, what are the top 10...???
Using devices the kids discovered that #1 NYR was weight loss, on average only 8% of people achieve their NYR, and they also shared "Fad Diets" they searched out with the class.  We talked a little about Fad Diets...what are they, are they healthy, and WHY do people diet anyway?  We discussed dieting for social vs healthy reasons and what those reasons might be.  (In some classes, anorexia and bulimia were discussed per student questions.)
The girls then watched videos (links below) depicting pressures society (specifically media) puts on girls/women, and they hopefully gained insight into what REALLY matters---not the surface, but the person. The last one is my favorite, and it has a GREAT message!  Enjoy!!!
